Thank you for your caring decision to adopt the Ring-tailed Lemur, a wet-nosed primate and one of five lemur families.

This endangered mammal from South and south-west Madagascar is threatened by habitat loss and poaching for the illegal pet trade. The Ring-tailed Lemur’s tail is very distinctive with black and white rings all along its length, hence the name ‘ring-tailed’. Its tail is used for visual and scent communication.

Your symbolic adoption will provide essential support to help take care of Lemurs at Perth Zoo and protect threatened species from Australia and around the world.

Fun Fact: Ring-tailed Lemurs like to sunbathe. They sit in an upright position with their hands on their knees and face the sun.

Please select your chosen adoption level to start your 12-month support of this highly social female-dominant species from the dry brush and scrub, closed canopy forest of the African island of Madagascar today.

If you are buying this adoption as a gift, please enter your own name and contact details (including email address) at checkout. A link will be included in your thank you email where you can advise of your gift recipient's details.
