Thank you for supporting Perth Zoo with a symbolic adoption of the Numbat, the Western Australian animal emblem.
This endangered mammal from south-west Western Australia is threatened by loss of habitat through land clearing and fire, as well as predation by feral predators including foxes and cats. As part of our Native Species Breeding Program, Perth Zoo has been breeding Numbats for release into protected habitats since 1993.
Fun Fact: The numbat is a highly distinctive carnivorous marsupial. It isn't closely related to any living marsupial, but one of its closest relatives is the now-extinct thylacine or 'Tasmanian tiger'. Read more about Numbats here
By choosing a symbolic adoption today, you're helping us care for the animals at Perth Zoo and contributing to the protection of threatened species. Your gift supports vital conservation efforts and helps ensure a brighter future for wildlife.
A welcome email for your symbolic adoption will be sent to you in the coming days!
